After four decades in the technology industry, I've witnessed programming's transformation from creative problem-solving to measurable output theatre. Having spent equal time at organ consoles and computer keyboards, I prefer craft over commodity in both domains.

Currently Principal AWS Cloud Solutions Architect at HiQ in Stockholm, where I focus on governance, security, and technical due diligence. Previously founded companies, collected AWS certifications, and spent considerable time explaining why Kubernetes isn't always the answer.

My technical work includes developing Ooloi, an open-source music notation system in Clojure, and contributing AWS utilities through OpenSecOps. I believe functional programming represents a return to programming as intellectual discipline rather than factory work.

The intersection of music and technology runs deeper than professional coincidence. As a concert organist and composer—having written what's apparently Sweden's most internationally performed opera—I understand both the creative process and the tools that serve it. This dual perspective shapes my approach to software architecture: systems should enhance human creativity, not constrain it through arbitrary complexity.

My theatrical upbringing taught me to spot performance versus authenticity, a skill surprisingly useful when evaluating corporate culture and technical claims. I write about the systematic degradation of programming as craft, the psychological manipulation embedded in modern employment, and the possibility of more honest relationships between humans and their tools.

I advocate for collective bargaining, precise language, and the radical notion that technical work should be intellectually satisfying. My writing examines how power structures disguise themselves as meritocracy, particularly in technology sectors.

Topics I explore: functional programming, AWS architecture, corporate theatre, technofeudalism, music notation software, and the cultural politics of artificial intelligence.

If you're interested in honest technical discourse, the intersection of craft and technology, or why most corporate culture resembles bad amateur dramatics, you might find something worthwhile here.
